We Buy Books - selling your books at Sappho!

We are always looking to buy books, however as we are being offered lots at the moment, we are being more selective. We are happy to look through your books and make an offer on the ones we can use. It dosn't matter if you have just a few or very large number.
Book exchange - We are happy to have a look, if we can use your book/s we will offer you cash or credit in the shop. Credit can be used on any second hand book in the shop.

Do I need an appointment to sell my books?

No! If you bring your books in we are happy to go through them and pull out the ones we can use and make an offer on the spot. An appointment is not necessary, however you are welcome to make one if you would like to.

When is the buyer in?

You can bring your books in any  week day between 10.30 and 4.30 and we will look at them on the spot. Saturday is not the best day because with the Glebe markets on over the road, parking is hard to find and we are usually very busy. There is  also a buyer in on about half the nights, call us to check: 9552 4498.

What subjects do you buy?

Give us a call if you would like to run through the subjects you have and we can tell you what we are looking for at the moment, this can save you carting books that we currently couldn't use. We are a general second hand bookshop with our main stock being humanities.
At the moment we are being offered lots of books so we are being a bit more selective. Any form of popular fiction (airport fiction) we are only buying for now if they were  published within the last 3 years. Sorry we don't buy TEXT books or science subjects.

Should I make a list of my books?

We do not work off lists, so you can save yourself some time there!

How do you pay?

We pay cash on the spot or if you prefer, you can take credit in the shop. If you choose credit rather than cash then whatever the cash offer is, this  amount is doubled and you have one year to spend the credit on second hand books.

How do I find Sappho and what is the parking like?

There are a few parking spots out the front and one loading zone spot so you may be lucky! Otherwise the safest spot is the lane by the school which is the first on the left off Glebe Point Rd, after Parramatta Rd. Click here for our map
