Like Olly, the supermarket cat, the poetry night at Sappho will not go away ... On the second Tuesday of February, the poetry night returns to Sappho with AVANT GAGA #23, featuring Kate Lilley, Dan Disney, and Razor Hope, plus an open section, and supported this year by the Copyright Agency. As ever, come along for drinks and tapas at the bar, and poems. 


is Associate Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing at the University of Sydney, and the Poetry Editor of Southerly. She is the author of two prizewinning collections, Versary (Salt) and Ladylike (UWAP), and the editor of Dorothy Hewett: Selected Poems (UWAP) and Margaret Cavendish: The Blazing World (Penguin Classics). Her new book of poems, Tilt, will be published by Vagabond in 2016.

collections include 'and then when the' (John Leonard Press, 2011), 'Mannequin's Guide to Utopias' (ASM, 2013), 'Report from a border' (light-trap press, 2016) and 'either, Orpheus' (UWAP, forthcoming). He is the editor of Beyond Babel: Exploring Second-language Creative Writing (John Benjamins Publishing, 2014), and co-editor of Writing to the Wire (UWA Publishing, forthcoming). He currently teaches with the English Literature Program at Sogang University, in Seoul.

is currently studying at Western Sydney University. She has been published in Shabby Doll House, Clinic, Voiceworks and is assistant editor at The Bohemyth. Her chapbook Hip Shifts will be will published by If A Leaf Falls Press in March. She can be found at @hisemonger and 

is a Melbourne-based performance poet in the mad cap Dada mould. He has performed in numerous venues in Melbourne and New York, including The Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne, The National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne City Library, The Wheeler Centre, The Art House, and La Mama Theatre (as part of the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival). In New York he has performed at the Nuyorican Slam Cafe, The Village Lantern and at the prestigious Bowery Club.
