Ella-Jane Sharpe is a jazz singer/songwriter and pianist living in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Ella-Jane has been taught by vocal coach Erana Clarke since the age of 13 and says that Erana has been one of her biggest inspirations and role models to her not only as a musician, but as a young woman. This year Ella-Jane had the priveledge of attending Generations In Jazz in Mount Gambier, South Australia. She was chosen along with 5 other vocalists from around Australia to perform and also meet the legendary James Morrison. This was one of the highlights of Ella-Jane’s career as she loved being up on the stage surrounded by so many amazing jazz musicians. More recently this year, Ella-Jane travelled to Boston in the United States to participate in Berklee College of Music’s 5-week summer performance program where she majored in jazz voice and piano. Ella-Jane was chosen out of all vocalists attending the program for the 5-week singers showcase, where Berklee showcased their most promising vocalists in the program. Ella-Jane has always had the dream of attending Berklee College of Music’s 4 year full-time program and so whilst at 5-week, Ella-Jane decided to audition for one of the prestigious scholarships awarded to students attending the program. Over 500 students auditioned and Ella-Jane received one of only 100 scholarships to attend Berklee in 2018.
