From Wednesday to Saturday at 6pm, our café transforms into a Wine & Tapas Bar. We have an elegant wine list and a selection of locally brewed craft beers & ciders as well as top quality, great value ‘house’ options. In summer, we serve jugs of sangria and in winter we serve mulled wine. All year round, we serve our unique and popular cocktails.

Our courtyard is well lit with a vibrant atmosphere and live music most nights. To see who’s performing at Sappho next, check out our Upcoming Events. The bookshop building had a former life as a youth centre, so the courtyard is home to a generation of graffiti.

Our renowned Poetry night takes place here on the second Tuesday of each month, as well as our growing Open Stage night on the third Tuesday. All are welcome.
